Lene Arnett Jensen is the originator of the cultural-developmental theoretical approach to research on human psychology. This approach encompasses what is universal and what is culturally distinctive about human development. Unlike one-size-fits-all psychological theories of the 20th century, the cultural-developmental approach conceptualizes life span development in terms of flexible templates that accommodate to cultural variations. Together with her students, Dr. Jensen has conducted research in countries such as Denmark, India, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States. Her recent and forthcoming publications include Oxford Handbook of Moral Development (forthcoming, Oxford University Press), Human Development: A Cultural Approach (2018, Pearson), Child Development Worldwide: A Cultural Approach (2018, Pearson), Oxford Handbook of Human Development and Culture (2016, Oxford University Press), Moral Development in a Global World (2015, Cambridge University Press), and Bridging Cultural and Developmental Psychology (2011, Oxford University Press).
